Nuclear Restoration Services
Safely decommissioning the first generation nuclear and research sites across the UK.

About NRS
Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS) is the new brand of Magnox Limited. NRS is responsible for decommissioning first generation nuclear power stations including Berkeley, Bradwell, Chapelcross, Dungeness A, Hinkley Point A, Hunterston A, Oldbury, Sizewell A, Trawsfynydd and Wylfa, alongside Harwell and Winfrith research sites. NRS is also responsible for electricity generation at Maentwrog hydroelectric plant in North Wales. As a division of NRS, Dounreay is responsible for the decommissioning and demolition of the UK’s former centre of fast reactor research and development in the Highlands of Scotland.
Over the next decade, as they are defueled, advanced gas-cooled reactor sites at Hunterston B, Dungeness B, Hinkley Point B, Torness, Heysham 1 and 2, and Hartlepool will join NRS for decommissioning. The work required at these sites is the first of its kind and NRS is continually learning and refining how work is delivered. The ultimate aim is to free up land for reuse for all our futures. What that looks like will be different at each site depending on the challenges, the needs of the local community and the environmental impact.
