Our Digital, data and technology teams play an essential important role in the safe and efficient delivery of our mission to decommission the UK’s earliest nuclear facilities.
Our 17,000 colleagues, working across multiple systems in the NDA and our operating companies, rely on the provision of a first-class IT service. But the work of digital, data and technology goes much beyond this.
Imagine developing systems to record and catalogue radioactive waste that will need to be accessible many hundreds of years in the future. Or designing specialist software to control robots that are used to access parts of our nuclear sites that aren’t safe for humans.
Investing in research and development
We’re spending around £100 million each year on research and development – finding ways to modernise how we work and ensure that we protect our people, communities and the environment. Many of these solutions make use of new and emerging technology and all of this needs to be delivered in a highly regulated environment, working with a range of stakeholders.
