Procurement and commercial

We spend around £1.9 billion each year across around 5,000 suppliers, buying a large variety of goods and services ranging from major construction and decommissioning infrastructure, such as nuclear waste processing plants, to materials, equipment, parts for trains, and everything we need to run our business, such as IT equipment.

Our 400+ people strong Commercial team buys all the goods and services we need and manages the contracts with our suppliers to ensure they deliver to the right cost, time and quality. We do this while maximising the additional value we can deliver through our contracts, such as supporting small businesses to grow, building skills and helping the environment, to name a few.

In addition, we also leverage the NDA group’s expertise and equipment to generate around £1 billion in revenue each year, selling and delivering NDA group services and expertise to the private sector and other countries.
